If My Computer Was A Transforming Computer...

*4TH GRADE WRITING ASSIGNMENT*
...it would transform to fit with the icon of an application.

For example, if I opened Google Chrome, it would transform into Google Chrome's icon with the blue center replaced with a screen and a keyboard below the screen.
And if I opened Lego Digital Designer, it would transform into a 2x2 blue LEGO brick with a screen, buttons and a mouse (a computer one).
And if I opened Minecraft, my computer would transform into a Minecraft grass block with a screen, some buttons and a mouse.
But sometimes it would glitch and transform into a frog with a screen for a face, a keyboard on its back, and a mouse for a tongue.
Usually closing the malfunctioning program would fix it, but sometimes it would remain a frog. To fix this, I'd shut the computer down, which would revert all transformations and transform the computer back into a, well, computer.

I hope you enjoyed reading this assignment!

If I Won a Trip to Anywhere I Wanted...

...it would be California.

*5th Grade Writing Assignment*

Why, you ask? Because all the greatest theme parks are there.
There's LEGOLAND, which is a LEGO-themed park, Universal Studios Resort, two Six Flags parks, Hurricane Harbor and more!

The first thing I'd do when I got there would be going to LEGOLAND...
...after renting a hotel room and unloading.

Then, after LEGOLAND, we'd go to Universal Studios Hollywood.

For the last few parks, we'd go to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and finally Hurricane Harbor before going back to Lubbock, Texas.

And if we ever go to California for real, we'll let you guys reading this know.

The Do's and Don'ts of E-Mail

Hey guys, this is Grant Taylor bringing you:
The Do's and Don'ts of E-Mail
Here is a list of do's I've accumulated for children on e-mail.
1. Use it to (appropriately) communicate with friends and family even when far away.
2. Use it as an educational tool to master spelling and writing.
3. Use it as a lesson in responsibility.
And here are the DON'TS:
(Note: Unless you like getting punished and thrown in jail, do NOT do these!)
-1. Never use bad words, which I myself will not list.
-2. Don't trust strangers EVER, for your safety and your computer's.
-3. Never open attachments from strangers. They could be viruses.
This is my list of do's and don'ts for children on e-mail.
See you later!

Flat Stanley: At the Arcade

 Flat Stanley:
At the Arcade
*by Grant Taylor*
***4TH GRADE WRITING ASSIGNMENT***
Going to the arcade is a highlight for Flat Stanley. Why? Two words: Pac-Man. Unless you play a 3-D game like Pac-Man Party, you should notice that EVERYTHING is flat, just like Stanley. Does being flat stop Pac-Man and the ghosts? No! They can still move with speed and accuracy, just like Stanley.

The first thing my main man Stan does is sliiiiiiiiiide under the front doors after closing time. That's the BEST time to go to an arcade because you can watch the attract mode to get the idea of how to play each game.
Then, he can slide under the games to find quarters that people dispensed and then he can play the game of his choice, which is usually Pac-Man.

After the 20th round (he is a REALLY good gamer), he notices that every level is the EXACT same as the last one... well, except for level 256. We will talk about THAT later on.

Later on, he starts to get really thirsty. It's time for one of his favorite things, and THAT'S going to the concession stand because he can get drinks for free. He jumps over the bar, pours some Coca~Cola in his cup, and then gets RIGHT back to playing.

The last thing he does before leaving is get some food from the concession stand. He does this so he can eat it on the way home.

Each trip to the arcade is a fun, free adventure for Flat Stan because he gets LOTS of undisturbed practice for the next trip. Stay tuned for Flat Stanley: Adventures in Japan!

New Super Mario Bros. 2

New Super Mario Bros. 2

I received NSMB2 from Mom Mom on August 24, 2012
and ever since it has been VERY FUN!
The game introduces lots of new additions as well as some
old favorites. These include:

The Reznors are back from Super Mario World.
The Gold Flower, Gold Mario and Silver Luigi, who
can throw gold or silver fireballs which turn things into coins.
Multi-Coin Brick Blocks will turn gold if hit enough
and Mario can wear them. It acts like the ? Suit from
Super Mario 3D Land, though it will disappear after
it releases a certain number of coins or if Mario gets hit.
The Gold Ring, which, when touched, will turn all enemies
GOLD for a set amount of time. Gold enemies will release
coins in various ways.
There's more, but I'm not gonna spoil it here.
HAPPY COIN-COLLECTING!

Paper Plate Prayers..."Brooke Style"

Leave it to my little fashionista, Brooke, to decorate her Paper Plate Prayers to match her bedding. Why didn't I think of that?
